Who we are

SwiftShip is a Chrome browser extension built for Australian Shopify merchants. It is operated by Koala Hats (ABN 57 675 082 868), based in Mona Vale, NSW 2103, Australia. You can contact us at noah@koalahats.com.

What data SwiftShip accesses

SwiftShip reads the following data from your Shopify admin order pages to fill in the AusPost MyPost Business form:

• Customer name
• Shipping address (street, suburb, state, postcode)
• Customer email address
• Customer phone number
• Order number
• Item quantity
• Shipping method selected by the customer

This data is read directly from the Shopify page you are viewing and from Shopify's order API. It is used solely to fill in the AusPost MyPost Business "Create new order" form on your behalf.

What we do NOT do with your data

• We do not store your order data on any server
• We do not transmit your order data to any third party
• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not sell any data
• We do not access any data beyond what is needed to fill the AusPost form

How data is processed

All data processing happens locally within your Chrome browser. When you click "Import to AusPost," SwiftShip temporarily stores the order data in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to pass it between the Shopify tab and the AusPost tab. This data is automatically deleted after the import is complete or after 10 minutes, whichever comes first.

Extension settings

Your SwiftShip settings (weight rules, packaging preferences, sender name) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's sync storage (chrome.storage.sync). If you are signed into Chrome, these settings may sync across your devices via your Google account. SwiftShip does not have access to these settings — they are managed entirely by Chrome.

Permissions explained

SwiftShip requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your settings and temporarily hold order data during import
• tabs — to detect when you are on a Shopify order page and to open the AusPost tab
• scripting — to read order data from the Shopify page and fill in fields on the AusPost page
• activeTab — to access the currently active tab when you click the SwiftShip icon

Host permissions are limited to: Shopify admin domains and auspost.com.au. SwiftShip does not access any other websites.

Subscription and payments

SwiftShip Pro subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment provider. We collect your email address for subscription management. Payment card details are never handled by SwiftShip directly — they are processed securely by our payment provider.

Your rights

Under Australian Privacy Principles (APP) and applicable privacy law, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Since SwiftShip does not store order data, the only personal information we may hold is your email address (for Pro subscribers).

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of SwiftShip after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
